‘The Bible and the Reformation’: Graham Tomlin at the Theological Society Wednesday 9 February 2011

...in the Chapter House at 8.00pm

From Andrew Knowles:

"We look forward to welcoming Graham Tomlin to the Theological Society on Wednesday. This will be the first of our special lectures in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Authorised Version of the Bible.

Many of us will know Graham as the Dean of St Mellitus College, which trains ordinands and Readers for the dioceses of London and Chelmsford. He is the author of several books, including ‘Luther and his World’ (Lion 2002), and ideally suited to describe for us the extraordinary impact of the Bible as it came off the printing presses of Europe in the language of the common people.

There is a charge of £3.50 payable at the door and, as always, all are welcome!

  With all good wishes,

  Andrew Knowles"
