Philippians is my favourite text in the bible, having read it in greek for my undergraduate theology degree. Not that I remember the greek, just how precious Philippians became to me. So this commentary got my attention, and it is stunning, and unlike anything else on my shelves.
What's unusual about this commentary is that it makes its exploration through 'evocative juxtapositions' of text and visual images, poetry and other worship related arts, meditations and prayers. So if you want a rich textured exploration of Philippians on your own, or in a group, this is a must read.
