Last thursday we baptised five people from our church community. I always find baptisms a 'thin space' like the notion in the Celtic tradition of space/time locations where the spiritual and the natural world intersect. The sense of the prescence of Jesus, as people made themselves vulnerable sharing their journey of pain, struggles, and of finding Jesus in the most difficult, as well as the most humdrum of times, was palpable. It always does my faith good, to hear people talk about how they came to follow Jesus, and pattern their life after him.
It reminded me again, of what Christianity is about, helping others find and grow into Christ together, for the mission of Jesus through his church in the world. I have more photos here.
