This year, instead of the annual London Emergent UK conference, we have co-ordinated a series of events throughout Europe, at which many church leaders will gather to discuss various issues concerning 'emerging church.'
Having been to Waverley Abbey yesterday, I'd like to profile one particular event, to be held at there on Wednesday 24th May 2006.
Entitled "What Kind of Church? - Serving God in a Post-Modern Culture," Brian McLaren will be sharing his thoughts about what kind of church community we need to become in order to serve God in a post-modern culture.
This one-day workshop will consider the role of the church in contemporary culture, asking how we reach people today without assimilating the culture?
It is ideal for those in church leadership, but we'd encourage anyone interested to go along and be a part of the conversation.
BOOKING DETAILS You may either download the form here or book over the phone - call 01252 784731.
Further Information Brian's first book, "The Church on the Other Side: Doing Ministry in the Postmodern Matrix", (Zondervan, 1998, rev. ed. 2000) has been recognized as a primary portal into the current conversation about postmodern ministry. Amongst many other books, Brian also wrote the well-known "A New Kind of Christian" (Jossey-Bass/Leadership Network, 2001) which further explores issues of Christian faith and postmodernity. His more recent book" A Generous Orthodoxy" (Emergent/YS/Zondervan) has been called a "manifesto" of the emerging church conversation.
